Frequently Asked Questions
Will I lose control during hypnosis?
Absolutely not. You gain more control through hypnosis, and remain awake and fully in charge of your mind and will. No theatrics, and no party tricks.
How will hypnosis help me?
Clients use my services to free themselves from unhealthy feelings, thoughts, or behaviors — For example, feeling anxious or unable to focus, feeling stuck in life or career, tied to harmful habits and cravings, or carrying extra weight. Just as with physical or mental healthcare, there is no 100% guarantee, but research suggests that it can be extremely effective.
Some people are more hypnotizable than others, and see greater benefits. Hypnotherapy is less effective for young children, or verbally and developmentally delayed people. If your dominant language is not English, it may feel more comfortable to work with a practitioner who speaks your native tongue.
How much does it cost?
It varies by duration, but all In-Office, Phone, or Video prices are the same:
$180 for 90 minutes, or 6 pre-paid sessions for $900
$140 for 60 minutes, or 6 pre-paid sessions for $725
Special events are estimated individually. Please contact me to discuss arrangements and options. Please be advised I take my profession seriously, and respectfully do not engage in theatrics or party tricks.
All payments shall be made in advance, or at the beginning of the session via credit card or Venmo. Book here.
Are you a doctor?
My PhD is in translation studies. Certified hypnotists respectfully do not address conditions that physicians, osteopaths, chiropractors, psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, and other physical or mental health professionals are trained to treat. Research has found that combined with traditional healthcare, hypnotherapy can increase the healing abilities of body and mind.
How long will this take?
A minimum of 6 sessions are recommended to train your mind to create a new pattern and maintain your goal. My aim is to help you learn to help yourself as quickly as possible.
You may choose 60- or 90-minute sessions, individually or in a package of 6.
There are no refunds for unused pre-paid sessions, but you can gift them to another person. The initial discussion will take some time out of their first visit.
Does insurance cover hypnotherapy services?
Rarely, so I do not accept insurance. If you have a Health Savings Account, you can write a check for the tax benefit.
